Student Contribution: Jordan Cook
“I thought taking this job would be easy. A good way to earn money, plus I attend campus already as a history student! But these law students… they’re something else.”
Today we met with Charlie, a barista at Little Bang who has been working at the cafe for around a month, however after just only a few days, he has started to show extreme concern about the students he has been serving.
“There’s this one girl… when she attends uni, it’ll be normal for her to drink over five coffees per day! One time, she told me her assignment was due that night and that day she drank eleven coffees that day! I honestly feel like I need to be CPR and Defib trained to work here. These coffee habits keep me up at night.”
The other, seasoned baristas at Little Bang are just amused at Charlie’s concern, having now survived a couple of years already and accepted that law students are just not normal.
Charlie thinks he has seen the worst of it, making it successfully through assignment season. However, we worry for him. Exam season is approaching and the number of sleep-deprived law students only increases, with coffee being their only source of happiness for the day.
