As an unfortunate side effect of studying law, there are some students out there who have had law seeped into their very being, their personality becoming intertwined with legal principles and jargon. For those who suffer from such an occurrence, you are not alone. For those who have kept their reason be careful and steer clear.
Meet Matt. He has found his passion, not so much for Tax Law, but for the certificate he will obtain upon completion that does wonders for his ego. And then there’s Diana. Never without a coffee in her hand, she lives off the fumes of caffeine. She is proficient at turning everyday conversations into courtroom dramas. Third-year law student, Sarah has a knack for constitutional law and a hobby in politics. She knows all about the legal and political realms, refusing to lose a debate on any matter.
In and out of the classroom, Alex's ego towered higher than case law stacks. With a silver tongue and a briefcase full of ambition, he debated professors and classmates alike. Yet, humility remained an unopened textbook, lost amidst the allure of his own rhetoric and the echoes of applause in mock trials.
Then there was Dan, a fourth-year student who found joy in challenging rental agreements, armed with precedents and contractual objections, because as we all know, once one has passed property law they have become a true expert in all property-related matters. Yet he struggles to understand why he cannot find a place to live.
With this group walking the halls of LC, students look on in awe but mostly concern. We caution you that if you are not careful you may fall weak to these side effects of studying law.
